This was pretty close to done in camera... I adjusted the levels slightly and made sure my color balance was good, touched up some marks on her skin where her bra had left imprints. There was a little lens flare from the sun I got rid of (usually like lens flare but in this composition it distracted from the subject) and added some clouds from a previous day of shooting in that same location. Unfortunately there wasn't a cloud in the sky that day and it needed something to break up the endless blue.
I typically avoid "artistic nudes" because they are rarely artistic, and mostly just a sad excuse to post nudity. However, I wanted to make this quick comment simply to say thank you for bringing something tasteful and truly artistic. Your focus is not the bareness of the model as is usual for this stuff on dA, but rather the actual perspective. I see actual meaning in this beyond, "look, she's naked!" So thank you, and keep up the good work.
It was but it was worth it for the shot. We were actually in a rock quarry and most of the ground was gravel... just a couple spots of cracked dirt where water had been in small puddles. Had to use the super wide angle lens to maximize the foreground and sell the effect.
I suppose we all do have our different opinions. I don't think I would be insulted by that, you spoke in a polite manner. Now, if you had said, "This is bleeping stupid! You ruined it with a naked girl!" it would be a much different story.
Phew! I'm just glad you were able to see the praise, because I didn't mean any offence. And it's not that she's NOT pretty, but naked ladies are not my thing personally-- and I didn't know she was til I clic-- and I'm just going to shut up now. *blushy thumbs up* Nice job, keep up the good work. *goes to smother self in pillow*
